A famous Buddhist nun born on 4 March BE 2347 in Ayutthaya, Maechi Boon Ruen was a close disciple of the famous LP Sod of Wat Paknam from whom she learned to make powerful amulets. She was a high-level practitioner of meditation and the creator of the famous Phra Putto Noi Buddha amulet in Thailand. She passed away in BE 2507 at the age of 70.
Wat Awutsikaram (Wat Awut) is a temple that is over 200 years old. In the temple, there is a building housing a big shrine and altar dedicated to Maechi Boon Ruen.
